Width
Dashing allows you to choose from seven different widths. You can choose from 500px, 600px, 700px (the default), 850px, 950px, 1050px and 1150px.
The sidebar itself, when placed on either the right or the left, is 240px wide.
Headers
Our Dashing theme has 25 different professionally designed headers built-in. It also features 5 addition blank headers that can be manipulated and customized with RWmultitool. For more information on RWmultitool visit their product page here.
Background
Dashing offers you 4 background styles to choose from. The theme gives you the ability to use the RapidWeaver Color Picker to choose a solid color background of any color you'd like.
Sidebar
In this theme you're able to place the sidebar in 3 different locations, left, right or above content. The sub-menu system for the Dashing theme resides in the sidebar. If you place the sidebar above the content, or hide it altogether, the sub-menu system will not be available on that particular page.
Menu
We've included the ability to change the style of both the horizontal and vertical (or sub-menu) navigation systems. You can choose from eight different horizontal menu styles. Everything from gray glass and black HUD styles to metallic options in green, blue, pink, silver and orange, similar to the iPod mini and shuffle colors.
The vertical menu has a rounded appearance in Safari and Firefox. These rounded corners can be adjusted to make them more, or less, rounded. The corner radius can be 3px, 6px, 12px, 20px, or 0px making the menu items squared off.
Site logo
When placing a logo in the Site Setup pane in RapidWeaver your logo will appear in the header of the site alongside the site title and slogan. Its placement is to the right right by default, but can also be moved to the left, or toggled off on a page-by-page basis.
Breadcrumb
The breadcrumb is a polished, stylish design that helps users easily navigate their way through your site. To use it you must toggle the breadcrumb on in the site setup.
Archives & feeds
The archives in the Dashing theme are special. We have designed the Archives to collapse into a compressed list. This gives a clean appearance to the sidebar of your Weblog page(s).
Since there is not a field in RW to change the header for the archives section we've added a javascript variable to the theme to allow you to change this header. The piece of code is:
var archivesTitle = "Archives";
This is the default code that resides within the theme, but you're able to change it by placing it in the custom Javascript field within the Page Inspector on your Weblog page. You can watch this video to see how to accomplish this.
The Archives is hidden by default and must be toggled on via the variations pane to be visible for a blog page.

(Q.) Is the width of the Dashing theme adjustable?
(A.) The Dashing theme does provide several different content widths. See the product page's variation's tab for more information on the available sizes. Click the Eye Dropper icon above.
(Q.) I'm interested in building my own custom header for my site. What are the dimensions for the header images so I can create my own?
(A.) The headers for Dashing editable in RWmultitool. They are built at 2000px by 233 px to allow for edge to edge display in the browser window. For more information on RWmultitool, visit their site at http://www.rwmultitool.com. A free trial copy of RWmultitool is included with your purchase.
(Q.) What is a good way to make my own custom headers?
(A.) If you're a pro you can open up the theme itself and edit the theme headers in PhotoShop. Most people will however opt for the easier method. We recommend using RWmultitool to edit your headers. It is a simple tool made for this specific purpose. We've added in support for this tool in the Dashing theme.
(Q.) I don't see the breadcrumb container text displaying. How do I turn it on?
(A.) To use it you must toggle the breadcrumb on in the site setup.
(Q.) How do I use my logo with the Dashing theme?
(A.) You must place your logo in the graphics well in the Site Setup pane of RW for it to display in the theme. The logo can be no taller than 233px in height. Anything larger will simply be cropped off.
(Q.) Once I've purchased my theme and downloaded it, how do I install it in RapidWeaver?
(A.) To install your new theme, double-click the theme icon. In this case the name of the theme icon will be Dashing.rwtheme. RapidWeaver will install the theme and then pop up a dialog box informing you that the theme is installed and that you now need to quit and restart RapidWeaver.
After exiting and then restarting RapidWeaver, you will find your theme installed and ready to use inside the theme drawer. Press Option-Command-T to bring up the theme drawer.
(Q.) What browsers are compatible with sites built using this theme?
(A.) We pride ourselves on being compatible with many browsers, especially the modern browsers that your visitors are using. We fully support Safari, FireFox, Cruz, Opera and Windows Internet Explorer. There are some options that work only in the more modern, standards compliant browsers. We outline any of these differences in the Variations section.
Recently Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8, which is a huge improvement over both previous versions (6 and 7). In doing so they've also announced that update notices for users of both IE 6 and IE 7 will be sent out via Windows' updater, helping to get these people using a modern browser.
Being that Internet Explorer 6 is about 6 - 7 years old now and no longer supported by Microsoft, we're dropping support for this browser as well.
We have been using Internet Explorer 8 in our testing of this theme and find it to be a huge leap forward for Microsoft, and we encourage all PC users to upgrade. You won't regret it.
